FUN Day at the CLC

Today we first watched some video of some girl who tried to tell us something about her house.We wrote what she said.Then wrote one for ourselves.Microphoned with everyone.Then mucked about with the videos, had lunch...Saw Edgar's buff video!!Then Joe and me made this movie which was dry ....

Today was pretty good coz of the links to video and multi-media equipment which made it more enjoyable. It was also good working in partners and having conversations together which was JOKES. There were very good resourses nice ibooks dat was nice and it was WELL fun filming ourselfz. i think it was a great day that other people can benefit from aswell in the future.

Morning- Typed up a short paragraph about myself based on a video on the internet.
Midday- Me and Josh wrote questions for an interview.
Noon- Me and Josh used the Mac laptops to film the interview. We burnt our interview onto a disk.

What I have learnt today and my opinion.

Today I have leant a lot. I have learnt how to structure questions when we had to do the interview

In my opinion the day was enjoyable, especially the bit with the imacs because the filming was very.... entertaining.

josh's reflection on the day...

TODAY WAS JOOOOOOOKES! i learnt how to act like a zebra and how to talk about family and groowing up issues!(very helpful) then me and george did a websshow and then that was really kl! we had 4 episodes of the josh show and one wiht a guest appearence from James Wong (the names wong james wong) who has just got back from china after filming thte new james wong film "goldenear" whihc willbe shwing at the end of this year. anway todat was preety damn nang! weve been here before but today was even better than the last few times and all the other ones were good too!byeee josh

Day at the CLC

Today we arrived at the CLC in the morning for French. First of all, we started with a warm-up to get our french up and running. We went on the website http://clcpublic/secondary/site/french/everyday_life.html and was learning about 'family'. Our task was to watch a short video clip and try and understand what the person was saying, also we wrote out what the video was telling us about the family. Most of us had to playback the video quite alot of times to 'jot' down most of the information, this really helped improve our listening skills. After that we had to put it into our own words but with the layout of what the person had said about their family. Here is the finished draft i had done:

Ma famille

Je m’appelle James, voici ma famille. Il y a quatre personnes, mon papa, ma maman, mon grand frère Chris et moi.
Papa s’appelle Ekie il est surveillant il travaille au cabinet, prés de la maison. Ma maman s’appelle Mei elle est assistante aussi elle travaille au cabinet. Mon frère Chris a dix-huit ans il est plus grand cou moi il est fou de basket et aime jouer la l’ordinateur. Et moi, je quatorze ans j’adore écouter la musique et jouer la l’ordinateur. Et toi?

we had to learn this off by heart and we had a voice clip of our own about 'mi famille'. Also afterwards we got into pairs and made ourselves a little interview video. We each asked 5 questions about our family and had to answer them. we had ibook laptops with in-built cameras. It was quite fun because we could watch over the mistakes we made, which was really joooookess! =P this was the best part of the day, and that's about it for the day. The thing i have learnt today was how to speak more fluently in french and also improve my listening skills. =]

French in the CLC

Today we came to the CLC for French. We used Zut! and Espresso. I didn't use Zut!, but Expresso was good. We watched a videoclip about a family in France, while watching this we had to write down ( in French) what the girl said. After that we had to write up the script for the clip. Then change it for our family, and learn it off by heart (APC). Then we recorded it, using the microphones. http://www.southcamden-clc.org.uk/Podcast_wes.asp. This helped us to improve our listening and reading skills. In pairs, we then wrote up 5 interview questions, which we filmed using i-Book cameras. This was the best part of the day! This day really improved my speaking and listening skills.

today we did alot of tasks about computer videoing and french first we revised a planned out speech and copied out from an audio about a girls family we then copied the form of the audio speech but about ourselves we then we got into pairs and recorded an interview with one person asking the other about their fammily,houses and age. then with the recorded interview we uploaded it on to a CD. http://www.southcamden-clc.org.uk/Podcast_wes.asp

today i learnt alot about using computers to make movies and record clips of sound. our school does not have such good computers so it was fun working with higher tech software like the apple lap tops which had their own camcorder, which we used to make our interviews.

on the whole i thought the day was well planned and was fun i lernt alot about computers and pracrised my french.

CLC DAY

It was all in french, after that i write a paragraph about my family and then had to record with a mocrophone on the computer. After me and edgar recored an interview in french using imovie. I learnt how to recored videos in french and also i got better at listening. I liked today.

Well today we basically came to CLC school and was given several tasks to do. The task was a french task and we had 2 memorize a video off a french site about your family. Once we memorized it we then had to type it into microsoft word, writing what we heard on the video. After we done that we had to make our own version using the same passage but talking about our family.

After we had to get into pairs, Me and my friend kerian was in pairs. In the pairs we had to get 5 questions about our family and then answer them. once we had done that we had to record us asking the questions to each other on imove using the mac books. Once we had recorded each conversations we burned it onto cd then gave it it.

On the whole I think the day went quite welland was planned quite well, I now know some words i didnt know about our family and i can understand more words better, such as the way they are pronounced.

Edgars french trip to the CLC

My name is Edgar and i spent a whole day at the Camden Learning Centre. We started by going on two languages websites and did an activity about my family. I then did a recording about my own family, which i recorded onto the computers. Then we had lunch and when we came back we started to do an interview about your family which i did with Adam O'Driscoll. I then customized the video a bit and now i am writing this blog which you could read if you want!!!

Voici une mère et sa fille. La mère s’appelle Tilly et sa fille s’appelle Louise. Louise est un animal extraordinaire ! Sa mère est un poney mais son père est un zèbre. Louise a les rayures de son père et le pelage brun de sa mère. Mais sa queue n'est pas normale pour un poney. Elle aime courir dans son champ. Elles s'aiment beaucoup Louise aime sa mère et Tilly aime la fille. Elle est vraiment bizarre mais elle est si mignonne et très jolie. Josh Marcus 2006.
Me voici comme un zèbre. J’ai les sabots, une crinière et des rayures blanches et noires. Ma mère est un zèbre mais mon père est un tigre. J’ai hérité des grandes dents et une queue maigre de mon père. J’aime mes parents parce-que ils sont des animaux sauvages. Quand je serai grand j’aimerais être un grand zèbre et courir partout. Today we had to in the morning watch one video from espresso.com on our computers and then write our own versions of the scripts of those videos replacing names and so on. We then recorded our scripts . Next in pairs we had to work out questions about each others scripts in french and we filemed ourselves interviewing each other.
Today I learned how to use the cameras on the top of the mac book pros. Also in French I learned words like écrivain which means writer.
I enjoyed the day because of the equiptment we got to use and seeing how awful most people (including me) are at acting.

French Trip: Jonathan Takel

Today we practised conversations and descriptions about families and pets. We rewrote a script that we heard from a video and adapted them to our lives. I think it was good because it I learnt a lot about listening and writing French. By using this text to create and structure conversations we created a video by using iMovie HD in which we acted out our conversations. This work helped me understand more about French because I learnt a lot of vocabulary about my family and how to create and speak well in conversations. In addition, I learnt how to use different programs on the computer which will be useful for me to improve my French in the future.
I enjoyed todays trip to the CLC because it was fun making videos and trying to speak French properly. I had a great day.

http://www.southcamden-clc.org.uk/Podcast_wes.asptoday was good, we came to CLC and looked over a french video on somebody's family. afterwards we had to try and type down the dialouge of the video into word and then transfer it into our own words and about our own family. when we had finished doing that we got into pairs and changed the dialogues into interviews between our pairs, when we had finished doing the interviews we recorded them using ivideo.

i think it was good in helping me to develop my listening skills and making my understanding better, as when i was watching the video i was translating what they were saying in my head so it would be easier to remember and to type down.

i think the whole day was helpful and useful for my french skills.
